COME ONE, COME ALL, # 25 IS AROUND THE CORNER!
HELLO TO ALL! Summer has gone by quickly and our Greatest Show on Earth (a/k/a the 25th Annual Convention) seems like it was just yesterday! But, it really IS time to start thinking about our 2017 Annual Convention! This year will be our Club’s 25th Annual Convention -- our celebration of a QUARTER CENTURY of club Conventions -- of members convening to celebrate our hobby and our individual fascination with all things related to GAMING HISTORY, casinos, card rooms (legal and illegal) and gaming paraphernalia and exumenia!
This is a major milestone -- 25 years of Annual Conventions is AWESOME! For those who may not know, our Club officially started in 1988 (five years earlier than our1st Convention in 1993) with an organizational meeting as part of the American Numismatic Association (ANA)’s Convention. Little did those first Convention Planners (Archie Black and Michael Knapp) realize what they would start! Or, maybe they did!
The 25th Annual Convention will be June 22-24, 2017 at the South Point Hotel and Casino. THIS YEAR, we will be moving from the Ballroom area to exhibit hall D in the Exhibit Hall Area
(on the same level as the South Point’s Arena and Pavilion). You are going to love the new space – it has Restrooms and a Concession Stand in the room!
Dealer Set-up begins at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21st and the Exhibit Floor opens to the public on Thursday, June 22nd through Saturday, june 24th. show hours are still to be determined and we will keep you informed!
We are very pleased to announce that our Club President, Doug Smith, and the Board of Directors have agreed to offer last year’s reduced table fees again for 2017! Single tables will be $275 and corner tables will be $475. For our returning Dealers’ information, IF you take the same number of tables you took in 2016, your fee will remain exactly the same in 2017!
Because of our new space in Exhibit Hall D, we need to change our floor layout this year and this will result in more corner tables becoming available. So, for those who have wanted a corner table – now is your chance!
We have attached the Dealer contract for this year and respectfully request that you return it to us at your earliest convenience but no later than January 31, 2017. We will be sending out explicit directions to Exhibit Hall D and Parking Access to our Dealers along with confirmation of our receipt of your Dealer’s fee.
Once again, we will provide Dealers an opportunity to pick up your packets at the back door of Exhibit Hall D OR at the Box Office across from the Exhibit Halls. There is space on the contract to note where you will pick up your packet.
Many things have changed through the years but not our members’ interests in getting together and sharing our enthusiasm, knowledge and wares! We could not have a Convention without Dealers – YOU! If you know of anyone who may want to be a Dealer, please let us know!
We look forward to this coming year when our membership convenes to make all things “old,” “new” again! And, we encourage you to be part of our Club’s 25th Annual Convention!
