One summer, back in the '70's, my wife and I decided to try to get on some game shows. I ended up on one called "To Tell The Truth" or something like that. Anyway, I was one of the contestants and Buddy Hackett was one of the stars. Betty White was also there. I had a chance to interact with both of them. As luck would have it, I won several day shows in a row. All of the other "stars" changed clothes each day but Buddy sat right there and talked with me. He said, "I only brought these clothes!!" He was very sharp, quick-witted and, although he played the goofy roles in movies, I perceived him as quite intelligent. He just talked and cracked one joke after another. it figures that I never thought to get an autograph!!
