While bidding on a very rare pearl in France, I received an email from someone I know in a neighboring country saying that two bidders lived walking distance from the seller and neither has ever bid on any casino item. When it got out of hand I stopped bidding... After the auction closed I learn that I was winning high bidder since shills' bids were retracted or deleted... and I thanked the informer.
