Hi, Rich, I've known about a former casino in Niland for some time. This club appears in CashCoinConnection with an address, but "No Further Information." It is not active as per California Gaming Commission so any winter games that might go down, are illegal. I'm surprised it still exists.
I own some land near Niland, on the seabed of the Salton Sea. As the Sea is receding quickly, my underwater property will soon be dry land. Bad news: Imperial County decided to hold us property owners accountable for blowing dust and salt from the exposed seabed - even though we didn't deposit it there! Nothing quite like California Remediation Efforts.
Bombay supposedly got its name during the early 1940's when there was a Naval Base somewhere around there, in the Chocolate Mountains. Fighter pilots would fly over the area - it was not populated then - and practice, opening the Bomb Bays!
