Gary Bettman, the commissioner of the National Hockey league announced today that for name equality, the following teams will change their names effective January 1st 2017.
The Tampa Bay Lighting, will now be called the Bay Lighting.
The San Jose Sharks, will now be called the Jose Sharks.
The Los Angeles Kings will now be called the Angeles Kings.
The New Jersey Devils will now be called the Jersey Devils.
The New York Islanders will now be called the York Islanders.
The St. Louis Eagles will now be called the Louis Eagles.
Again as stated, the name changes will take January 1st 2017
