My guess would be a personal set for a home game, or a fantasy set, but not a public card room.

These chips are modern enough to use the "CA" abbreviation for California. For that period forward, public card rooms were not licensed in LA County, other than Gardena ... then larger clubs beginning with Bell, CA then Commerce, CA, then Bell Gardens, etc. Those clubs are documented.

Also, all denominations in the set are made with colors and 4-inserts that were available for public purchase, I think. All the denominations have plain white / round inlays. Taken together, they look like home game, or maybe fantasy chips to me.

Do we know what the basis is for classifying as "Card Room" on the Chip Guide? Is the location listed in The Gaming Table?
