Even though I have only been really active since I retired, I have enjoy being a member for over 25 years. The club provides a good source of information for gaming history. I bought my first club magazine in Bill Borland's store back then. Filled out the application when I got home and have been a member since. Being newly married & living in NYC it was difficult to connect with members. I made it to a few conventions over the years, 2 at the Aladdin, one each at the Trop & the Riv. The club brought me in contact with Archie Black & Doug Saito both of whom I enjoy their friendships' today.
Since I retired and started attending conventions regularly, I have fortunate to meet many more members. Where ever I go, I bring extra issues of our magazine to get people to join the club. The magazine has always been the one clubs best recruiting vehicles.
No matter where ever you go you are going to find people that disagree. I think the club tries to take path of what is best for the most. My participation in the club the last 5 years has helped me transition to retirement, which was something that was forced on me. I hope we will be around for a long time.
