If you play a machine with a $6,500 limit, don't actually hit a jackpot but get a TITO that says $43m then would you really expect the casino to pay out the $43m?
That said, I had a similar issue at the NYNY in Las Vegas - played a Wheel of Fortune a few years back and the bonus spin stopped on a large number (I think it was 2,500) on a quarter machine, so not exactly a massive win, but it the machine froze and I was told the same - no win at all, even though I should have won something from a bonus spin. The casino has the sticker saying malfunctions void all wins, so I got nothing, but I would never play there again because of the way it was handled - the floor staff were actually really rude, said tough and if you want you can complain you can but you won't get anywhere! The supervisor with the tech guy even smirked as he was telling me this. I'm a small player, but figure they lost more than that $625 from me never playing there again (and telling plenty of other people too!) but it was clear that the NYNY staff didn't care. Ah well, I still enjoy losing my cash at other casinos
