I have collected everything Sahara over the past 15 years or so. Some of the toughest and most rewarding chips to find have been the crest & seal roulettes from the Sahara in South Tahoe. These were made in the 1970's and four of the 5 table number chips were reordered a couple of years later. Apparently, table 5 was not reordered.
The difference in the two lots is principally the size of the table numbers marked on the white inlays. The initial order had wide numerals and the later order, narrower numerals. In general, the only way to separate these varieties is to view them side-by-side. The Chip Rack lists all of them but a few of the colors I was never able to find. Other chip colors of particular tables were difficult but finally obtainable.
I decided to show the collection here on The Chip Board and offer individual chips for sale at $20 each. These chips are all G values in TCR and a few of them finally cost me $40-50 each. The scans are in the next two posts, first the wide numeral chips, then the narrow numeral chips. Let me know if you'd like individual chips. Please indicate wide/narrow with table number and color. You can see by the blank spaces which chips I never found so I'm guessing these are among the keys to the set. I'm missing only 4-5 chips from each variety. RichH who collects ALL the crest&seal casino chips is missing only a couple of the narrow-varieties, as you can see on his web page at http://www.oldpokerchips.com/NevadaQS1.htm
