LAST YEAR, I STARTED HAVING A GUEST AUTHOR AND HIS/HER HARVEST STORY AS OFTEN AS I COULD.

A PENNSYLVANIA CASINO

Have an interesting gathering story that I'll pass on to you.
Was on a trip through PA recently cashing in and gathering. The PENNSYLVANIA CASINO (Made up name) has a $3.00 drop chip that they told me several times in the past they could not let out. In fact, they told me that dealers/floors/cashiers had been fired for doing it (kind of severe but ....).
But I figured I had nothing to lose by trying!
I started with the floor and was told that the chips were not being used anymore and he saw no reason they couldn't be sold. After all, they were just sitting in the vault. I then went to the cashier and told her what happened. She asked the floor and he again said he saw no reason not to let one out. The cashier then called her boss who agreed that she could sell me the chip. I made it obvious that I was going to give her $10.00 for the chip so she went and got one. As we were completing the transaction, another cashier went by behind her and said that people had been fired for selling them in the past. I tried to explain that the firings happened when the chips were being used but they're just not being used anymore, that the floor and her boss agreed the chip could be sold, yadda, yadda, yadda.
The cashier pulled back the chip and said she just couldn't take the chance at being fired. She was all apologies (sincerely).
If you do include this story in your POD some Friday, please change the casino name to something totally fictitious "to protect the innocent". Don't know who reads the Chipguide and I really don't want to get anyone in trouble at this casino.

SIENNA CASINO WAS RELATIVELY NEW WHEN I VISITED IT. AND WHEN I WALKED OVER TO IT FROM THE MAIN PART OF DOWNTOWN RENO IT WAS SEVERAL BLOCKS, I WAS THINKING WHY WOULD ANY ONE WANT TO DRIVE DIRECTLY TO OR WALK THIS FAR TO GAMBLE WHEN THEY CAN JUST PULL INTO THE CAL NEVA PARKING GARAGE.
WHEN I GOT THERE I THOUGHT I WOULD SIT DOWN AT THE BLACKJACK TABLE INSTEAD OF GOING INTO THE HARVEST HEAD ON WITHOUT GET SOME FEEL FOR THE PLACE. IT HAD NOT BEEN OPEN MORE THAN 3 YEARS AS I REMEMBER.
I QUICKLY GOT BORED WITH THE BLACKJACK TABLE, I MUST HAVE BEEN LOSING. ANY WAY I WALKED OVER TO THE CASHIERS CAGE AND ASKED IF THEY STILL HAD ANY OF THEIR GRAND OPENING CHIPS, AND THE CASHIER LOOKED AT ME RATHER COYLY AND SAID HOW MANY DO YOU WANT? I DID NOT KNOW QUITE WHAT TO SAY, ONE OR A DOZEN SO I JUST SAID COULD I GET 5? SHE SAID OK AND WENT AROUND TO THE BACK OF THE CAGE IN FRONT OF THE VAULT AND GOT THEM, COUNTED THEM OUT AND SAID IS THERE ANY THING ELSE I CAN DO FOR YOU? I SAID NO, BUT THANKS. AT THIS TIME THEY WERE NOT USING SNAPPERS SO I HAD MY POCKET FULL OF ONES AND COUPLE OF 5’S AND AS I STARTED WALKING TOWARDS THE DOOR THE FLOOR MAN STOPPED ME AND ASKED ME WHAT I WAS DOING WITH THE EXTRA GRAND OPENING CHIPS. I TOOK THIS OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLAIN TO HIM THAT I WAS A CARD CARRYING MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL CHIP COLLECTORS CLUB OF AMERICA. AND THEN I SHOWED THE CARD TO HIM, HE SAID I DID NOT KNOW THAT THIS CLUB EVEN EXISTED, HE SEEMED GENUINELY IMPPRESSED.
ON MY WALK BACK TO THE CAL NEVA I THOUGHT, THAT WAS WELL WORTH IT TO ME TO MAKE THE WALK OVER THERE AND BACK. I DID GET ENOUGH CHIPS FROM THE SIENA TO LAST A LONG TIME, AT LEAST UNTIL THEY CLOSED AND RE-OPENED LATER WITH A NEW RACK…REGGIE

HOME OF 4500 TRADERS

Starting in January 2016, I have listed everything I have (all of my excel inventory +) on the collection library trader/for sale. Of course, many of you did not know that my previous listings were items I had more than one of. Now, everything; even the ones I only have 1 (one) of will be listed. Please know; none of these are from my personal collection. One more important point while searching for chips on my CL site; there are two settings for viewing my chips. One is a simply a long, long list of pictures and descriptions. Two is by Country/City/State/Casino alphabetical. You may request to change this at any time. And when you do I will leave it on that setting for a couple of days, or whatever you request within reason, before I change to help another chipper’s request.

This will cause more work for me, and along with that will be the possibility of more errors, and chances for items to slip through the cracks. So, I apologize in advance for the times I do not clear off a listing after it has been sold. Also, on the other side of coin, there will be times I will find a very nice item that I had forgot to put on the “Collection Library” when I first got it. And now I am listing it just when you started looking for it.
*On the subject of trading, please know: When you spot something on my CL Trader/For Sale list that you really want, I need to get something that I can put into my collection, also; or it will be a cash sale. Because, to take in trade something I will in turn have to sell, (that is already in my collection) requires me to work twice as hard to complete the original transaction.
The total amount of chips listed on this site as traders and for sale are approximately 4500. This of course will fluctuate up and down, however this number should afford most collectors looking for a piece to put in their collection at least an opportunity to see a few chips not often offered.
