A GUEST AUTHOR’s HARVEST STORY

WE-WONT-NAME INDIAN CASINO SAN DIEGO AREA

J Eric Freedner

Hey "Cousin Reggie,"

In all the years I've harvested chips, I've never played a card game in a casino! That changed tonight, and here's the story:

An Indian casino in the San Diego area (we won't name) offered a couple of $5 No-Cash-Value chips so I went down there and got a voucher for them in the usual manner, at the player's club counter. But, when I went to the Pit Boss to redeem the voucher as I've done on past occasions, he took the voucher and said I must be seated at a table, playing, before he would give me the chips. Maybe he recognized me from past visits. Or was just a grouchy Pit Boss. Trapped. I sat at the only Blackjack game in his area. I then realized it had a $15 minimum, rather than a $5. Threw down a $20 and got four regular $5 chips. Pit Boss came over with the 2 NCV ones, dealer at first handed them to the player next to me, then realized his error and gave them to me. I put them in my pocket, and bet with 3 of the house chips. Dealer scowled and tossed me two cards. Two Kings. He tried to beat me, got only piddling cards and came up with 18. I heard him hiss, "Damn!" and he was obliged to pay me $15. Dealer asked why I didn't bet with the two NCV chips, I said I figured they were "lucky chips." I took my $35 in chips off the table, said "See ya," and left. Dealer was still muttering under his breath and the Pit Boss was shooting daggers at me with his eyes.
General Custer is looking down approvingly.

PERSONAL HARVESTING STORIES

RIVER ROCK CASINO (ALEXANDER VALLEY) GEYSERVILLE, CA

By:RICHARD “REGGIE” GUMMER

HARVESTING IS ALWAYS FUN, OR AT LEAST MOST OF THE TIME HARVESTING IS FUN. WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR NORTHERN CAL AND OREGON COAST TRIP WHEN WE DROVE IN FROM HIGHWAY 101 TO THE RIVER ROCK CASINO.
AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT, WE DROVE UP THE HILL TO THE RIVER ROCK CASINO ONLY TO FIND THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR REMODELING PROJECT WHICH INCLUDED THE PARKING AREA. A WEEK LATER THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO PROBLEMS, BUT THIS DAY THERE WERE VERY BIG PROBLEMS, NO PARKING FOR RIG’S SUCH OURS. SO I GOT OUT AND PLEAD MY CASE TO THE PARKING ATTENDENTS AND FINALLY, FINALLY THEY SAID, PULL IT UP TO THIS SPOT ( AND POINTED) YOU GOT 30 MINUTES.
WELL I GRABBED NANCY AFTER WE PARKED AND WE BOTH HIT THE RESTROOMS AND THEN I HEADED FOR THE BLACK JACK TABLES, DID NOT STOP TO TALK TO THE CASHIER CAGE, NOR A PIT BOSS, OTHER THAN TO GET PERMISSION TO BUY SOME CHIPS OFF THE TABLES. I GOT WHAT I CAME FOR FROM THEIR NEW RACK OF CHIPS, WHICH WAS JUST OUT A YEAR OR TWO AGO. ON THE WAY OUT I PULLED NANCY AWAY FROM THE “KITTY LITTER” MACHINE AND WE KEPT OUR WORD WITH THE PARKING ATTENDANT SUPERVISOR.
A QUICK HARVEST, IS A GOOD HARVEST…REGGIE

A PAIR TO DRAW TO

I am always trying to put things together that have some semblance of balance. Of course, that will always be in the eye of the beholder. Some of these may attract you the collector a little or a lot, no matter which way it attracts, please know I am always trying to help you out, with items you want at price that is fair. For now, I am going to do them every week, but as an unscheduled surprise feature…Thanks for looking. Reggie

If you have some ideas about compatible pairs please send them in to me. If it is possible and I happen to have the two, they will be put on the docket...reg

MY COLLECTION LIBRARY WEB SITE

HOME OF 4500 TRADERS

Starting in January 2016, I have listed everything I have (all of my excel inventory +) on the collection library trader/for sale. Of course, many of you did not know that my previous listings were items I had more than one of. Now, everything; even the ones I only have 1 (one) of will be listed. Please know; none of these are from my personal collection. One more important point while searching for chips on my CL site; there are two settings for viewing my chips. One is a simply a long, long list of pictures and descriptions. Two is by Country/City/State/Casino alphabetical. You may request to change this at any time. And when you do I will leave it on that setting for a couple of days, or whatever you request within reason, before I change to help another chipper’s request.

This will cause more work for me, and along with that will be the possibility of more errors, and chances for items to slip through the cracks. So, I apologize in advance for the times I do not clear off a listing after it has been sold. Also, on the other side of coin, there will be times I will find a very nice item that I had forgot to put on the “Collection Library” when I first got it. And now I am listing it just when you started looking for it.
*On the subject of trading, please know: When you spot something on my CL Trader/For Sale list that you really want, I need to get something that I can put into my collection, also; or it will be a cash sale. Because, to take in trade something I will in turn have to sell, (that is already in my collection) requires me to work twice as hard to complete the original transaction.
The total amount of chips listed on this site as traders and for sale are approximately 4500. This of course will fluctuate up and down, however this number should afford most collectors looking for a piece to put in their collection at least an opportunity to see a few chips not often offered.
Thanks for taking your time to read over this post, Reggie
*Please read thoroughly
