Re: ROAD TRIP TO BEATTY & RHYOLITE GHOST TOWN

Rich-Great shots of Beatty and Rhyolite. I loved playing those old slots in the Exchange Club in the 60s and 70s. I think the Doings of Searchlight
owned it then. They had a crap and 21 game then and used those old blue dollar chips. The place was later owned by Murphy Breedlove and he
was the one who added the Silver Slipper sign as well as the window grates from the Golden Nugget. There was a fire that almost burned the place
down but they were able to save it. Murphy remodeled the place, removing the wagon wheels from the ceiling and adding all that brickwork to the
outside. The place was never the same after that.
I knew Evan Thompson, the guy who lived in the bottle house in Rhyolite. One time I got an old $100 Exchange Club chip from him but it took
some doing. The old depot was open as a rock and junk store. I remember finding some generic chips that were probably used when the place was
a casino. I remember the gays were trying to take over the town but were run out after a while. I guess they had big plans.
