Friends and I nicknamed Spirit Airlines NADA since they charge extra for every little thing. The 'free' carry-on bag size is smaller than the standard carry-on size that all other airlines adhere to. My industry norm carry-on, free on SouthWest, United, Delta, cost an extra $40. If you don't pay the extra size fee at baggage check-in they hit you with a $100 charge at the boarding gate. Thirsty during the flight? A soda will cost you $3 or $5, don't remember exactly. Didn't ask about water but if it's bottled, probably not free. I was waiting for the pilot to ask over the PA for gas money from everybody.
