North Lake Tahoe is in worse shape than even Reno for casino profits. I can't imagine CNL reopening unless something major happens. It would be nice to see this 70+ year old casino resurrected, but it takes capital to make it happen, and an expectation of profits from gambling. The only thing I can imagine that might make it profitable again is the closing of some or all of the California Indian casinos; not likely, but that's the kind of shock that would be needed to make gambling in Reno and Tahoe profitable for the casinos again.
