My home page "host"--Godaddy.com announced in April that it was "upgrading" its site and I would have to migrate my scans to the new site. Since I have thousands of scans I immediately found that I could not do that in my life time...so hired a person to do it for me. She did a super job for little money but she has mislabeled the categories and I have to have them changed.
More important is that the "Upgraded" site is very difficult to operate. I can not just open a box and going the "image" find the image and drop it in...then resizing it with a link to resize. At that point I could add text above or below the scan with ease....no longer can I do that. I must first resize the scan w/adobephotoshop); then get the image which takes much longer to obtain; and literally float it over to a box; resize it using a ruler type device) and place it in the box...but then I cannot add text--I have to put the text in first before adding the scan; and putting in text is now very difficult...I have to float it over to the box, hit an "edit" icon, delete pretyped instructions and then type in the text. The whole process to add one scan and text takes me about 15 minutes (and while someone more adept w/o the shakes could do it better) the process is not an "upgrade" but a real bad ass downgrade. I didn't choose GoDaddy--it was chosen for me so I am at its mercy. There are many other things that I used to be able to do that I cannot do now. Thanks for listening to my raging rave.
