Can anyone enlighten me on "private bidders" on Ebay? Are they real bidders or is it a technique to raise the price of an item? Reason for question ... I placed a bid with about a minute left on and item, but was outbid by 4 private bids that were well above my submitted bid. Didn't make sense to me! Just curious. What's their purpose ??? Thanks!
