YEARS' AGO I WAS GOING THRU GARDNERSVILLE NEVADA IN MY MOTORHOME AND STOPPED IN FOR LUNCH AND HOPEFULLY A FEW CHIPS TO TAKE HOME. I ASKED THE GAL AT THE CASH REGISTER IF I COULD BUY SOME SOUVENIR CHIPS.... THE OWNER (SHARKEY) OVERHEARD ME AND TOOK ME INTO THE NEXT ROOM WHERE HE WAS SORTING RED & GREEN SAHARA COIN METAL INLAY CHIPS. HE HAD ABOUT 20 PAINT BUCKETS FULL OF THEM ... IASKED IF I COULD BUY 2 OF THEM AND HE SAID NO! HE SAID OPEN YOUR HANDS AND HE SCOOPED UP 2 BIG HANDFULS OF CHIPS AND SAID ENJOY THEM. HE WOULD NOT EVEN TAKE ANY MONEY. I ASKED HOW THE HECK HE GOT SO MANY OF THEM ... AND HE SAID A GUY CAME IN FROM THE COUNTY DUMP WHERE THEY WERE RECENTLY DISPOSED OF. THEY BROUGHT ALL OF THE RETIRED SAHARA LAS VEGAS CHIPS UP TO HIS COUNTY DUMP.
ANYWAY I HAD A GREAT PRIME RIB ...RIB DINNER WITH SHARKEY AND TALKED FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS ... GREAT GUY AND A TRUE COLLECTOR HIMSELF. I WENT BACK LAST YEAR AND BOY THEY RE-MODELED AND THE PLACE IS NOT THE SAME. THANKS FOR READING MY OTHER DIG STORY!
