Hi,
I do some Ebaying (not a whole lot but mostly for fun), but have never run into this so I would like to ask you all how you would handle it.
I sold two auctions awhile back to a person and they had some silver coins and some 40% silver coins in it.
I combined shipping and actually paid more to ship than I had charged, I insured it for 100.00. Sale was about 125.00 but I figured to insure it for the 100.
So a week or so goes by and I get an email asking where the coins are and that he has not received it. I checked the tracking and the Post Office show it delivered to the mailbox. The buyer insists he does not have them. I filed a claim and was denied as they said it was delivered. I told the person to check with the mailman to see if they remember, another week or more pasts and I send another email and get the response, I did not answer because I was on vacation see answer below
"Hello, I have not received the coins. I have not gotten in touch with you because I am on vacation. But no one seen the coins at home or the mail man.:
I did appeal the claim and it was denied again, I also am not sure if someone else is picking up his mail as he said no one seen the coins at home or the mailman.
I asked him to write a letter stating all this and to also include who else was picking up mail. I just sent that today
What is my next step? I do not feel I should return the money as the Post Office even says they delivered it. When/if it goes to Ebay I think they will also feel there is no refund due. I am at a loss as to what to do, I have never had this happen before. Any advice would be well appreciated.
Thanks
