This coin-inlay chip from Puerto Rico was used in the Hyatt Cerromar Beach hotel in Dorado. This place opened in 1971 and finally closed about 10 years ago. Color is orange with three white inserts and edge has an additional 6 white dashes. The design is the same on both sides. Condition is EXC and will stand on edge. The coin is smooth and doesn't have concentric circles. Yours for $8, delivered in USA.
The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico became an American Territory in 1898 and a Protectorate in the 1950s. I remember telling Al Rollins, (Mr. Puerto Rico Chips) at a chip show that I only collected chips from the United States. He convinced me that Puerto Rico chips were from the USA and since then I've collected a number of denominations of chips from there. You might like to add this $2.50 to your collection as well.
I visited the island with my brother and his wife in the 1990s and we drove all around the island, visiting every casino we could find. That gave me a good start in my P.R. chip collection.
