I AGREE THAT AT A CHIP SHOW YOU MUST RENT A TABLE, GET A SALES TAX FORM AND COLLECT AND REMIT SALES TAXES ON YOUR SALES DURING A PUBLIC RETAIL EVENT OR SHOW. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT SALES TAX IS REQUIRED ON EBAY SALES IN NEVADA ... YOU SAY YOU HAVE A LICENSED BUSINESS IN NEVADA, MAY I ASK WHAT IT IS AND WHERE IT IS LOCATED AND AS TO WHY YOU DEMAND SALES TAX?
I have a Nevada resale license, which I use to buy and sell in Carson City.

I DO NOT AGREE THAT SALES TAXES SHOULD BE CHARGED ON PRIVATE TRADES OR PRIVATE CHIP SALES BETWEEN MEMBERS OR COLLECTORS IN THE HOBBY.
That's fine to disagree, perhaps would should disagree and part as gentlemen on this matter.

IN NEVADA YOU CAN BUY A USED CAR FROM A DEALER AND MUST PYA THE TAXES .... HOWEVER IF I BUY A USED CAR FROM A PRIVATE SELLER, THEN NO SALES TAXES ARE LEVIED. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR OTHER MEMBERS / COLLECTORS WHO HAVE BOUGHT CHIPS ON THE CHIP BOARD FROM YOU, WHO HAVE BEEN CHARGES SALES TAX ...

WHY DO YOU NOT HANG SOLD SIGNS ON YOUR POSTS?
As stated before, I have often have multiples of the chips I post, hence the low prices, and sold tags seem to cause more problems than they solve. I think that you should be able to run your business the way you want, and I should be able to do the same.

Rich, This statement is both untrue and out of line. I think that you should consider retracting it.

HOW DO THE CLUN MEMBERS OR COLLECTORS BUYERS KNOW YOU ARE MAKING PAYMENTS TO THE NEVADA DIVISION OF TAXATION WHEN YOU CHARGE THEM 8.1% ON THIER CHIP PURCHASES FROM YOU?
Perhaps just faith. I guess if you really wanted to fly up to Northern Nevada and look at copies of my sales tax filings, I would show them to you. I believe in being as honest as I possibly can in all of my dealings, both personal and business.

DO YOU JUST KEEP THE ADDED 8.1% AS AN ADDITIONAL PROFIT CENTER?
No, I remit the sales tax collected on a quarterly basis to the state of Nevada.

I HAVE HAD A RETAIL STORE IN LAS VEGAS FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS' AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD TO TURN IN MY TAX SALES LIABILITY TO THE STATE EACH AND EVERY MONTH. WHEN I HAVE CLUB MEMBERS OR COLLECTOR FRIENDS VISIT ME IN LAS VEGAS AND WE DO TRADES OR PRIVATE SALES AS COLLECTORS OUTSIDE OF MY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE, I DO NOT ADD SALES TAX TO OUR TRANSACTIONS. IF IT OCCURS IN MY STORE, I MAY INCLUDE THE SALES TAX IN THE PURCHASE TO THE COLLECTOR AND LATER I EXTRACT THE 8.1% TAX FOR REMMITANCE TO DEPT. OF TAXATION. YOUR STEALTH SALES PRACTICE AND DEMANDS OF CHARGING SALES TAXES ON THE CHIP BOARD FOR PRIVATE SALES .... IS GOING TO OPEN A HUGHE DEBATE AND YOU WILL BRING UNWANTED EXPOSURE TO OUR HOBBY OF TRADING AND COLLECTING CHIPS! WHEN YOU GO TO THE CASINO CAGE AND PURCHASE LIMITED EDITION CHIPS ... YOU DO NOT PAY SALES TAXES ON THE PURCHASE OF THIS COLLECTIBLE ITEM. I WELCOME OTHER CLUB MEMBERS, COLLECTORS TO COMMENT ON YOUR POLICY AND THIS HEATED TOPIC
I am not sure why this is a heated topic. If you don't like the fact that I collect and remit sales tax on sales within the state of Nevada, don't buy from me. I grant you the privilege and right. Your comments are moving towards being inappropriate, and I would hope that as I have honestly, openly, and accurately answered your questions, that you would simply decide to move on and agree to disagree.
