Thought I'd ask everyone...
Lately, I've been receiving the most obscene SPAM mail.
This seems to happen when I've gone to Facebook and
clicked on any of the items of interest that usually appear
on the right side of the screen.
I block the email addresses from my email preferences,
but new ones will appear if I click on FB links. I've
found it's a lot easier to just Google whatever subject
catches my eye and it seems to be OK, so the culprit
has to be Facebook.
The latest update on Firefox has an add-on that's called
Lightbeam which is a Firefox add-on that enables
you to see the first and third party sites you interact with
on the Web. Using interactive visualizations, Lightbeam
shows you the relationships between these third parties
and the sites you visit. When I check Lightbeam after
visiting FB, the screen fills with links, when the only site
I visited was FB.
An example of Lightbeam (courtesy of Wikepdia) is below:
Has anyone else had a similar experience with SPAM?
Thanks...
