There's a lady who puts on the card games at those

two casinos. Cactus Jack was on Fridays. Think they have only one table. She was okay about selling me a couple of chips when I happened to wander in and discover the game going. To the amusement of the card players who couldn't conceive that anyone would waste money on buying a chip and not playing.

The dealer invited me to the Jackpot Casino the following night, at 6:30 I think, and said she could sell me a few chips from there as well. But I arrived late, having had dinner in Reno - around 7:30 PM and the table was closed. Apparently nobody showed up at Jackpot Crossing that Saturday night to play. Carson City law seems to be, if no players arrive within a half hour, the dealer can go home, but it still counts as an offer to play cards for licensing purposes. Larry Hollibaugh or John Chamberlain might be able to explain this in a bit more detail. Anyway, that's my Carson City chip gathering adventure!
