"good ol' boys" club as it is a "good ol' friends" club. Many of the club members have known each other & have been friends for longer than the club has been around. Sometimes, it's a little hard to break into those "friendships". I've been a club member for over fifteen years & at times I feel like an outsider in some of those groups. But for the most part, they will offer their help & expertise no matter how long you've been a member (or collector). I was very fortunate to have made friends with a number of club members early on. My first convention, I kinda felt like a tiny fish in a very big pond & was very impressed by the warm welcome received by Archie Black & a few others. I kept to myself most of that first convention & remember how nice it made me feel when a couple of members struck up a conversation with me at the club auction. I couldn't wait to come back that following year and when I did, I made it a point to meet as many members as I could and, as they say, the rest is history. Some of my favorite people & some of my best friends have come from this club...sometimes it does take a little effort or a little more work, but what you gain is invaluable. I wish you the best & do hope that you reconsider...and if you ever do make it to a convention, I'd be happy to make your acquaintance.
