Hello Chippers,
Several weeks ago, I drove to Winnemucca, Nevada to investigate the history of this wonderful chip. I very much enjoyed the conversation with the Administrative Assistant of the Humboldt Museum, Jerry Leon.
I learned that Monte’s Club was also a brothel and was located on Main Street. “Nevada Golden Age of Gambling” by Albert & Woods Moe mentions Monte’s Club in Chapter 11.
The museum was fantastic! I certainly recommend stopping if you’re in the area! (see attachments). I will continue my quest of information about Monte’s Club.
I only released 12 of these chips in 2014 at $100, hence “LUCKY DOZEN” Group 1. As promised, I only released 12 in 2015 at $110 on the opening hour of the convention, hence “Lucky Dozen” Group 2.
At noon on opening day of the convention, June 23, 2016, I will release another 12 of the Monte’s Club .25 chip at $120, hence “LUCKY DOZEN” Group 3. All prior purchasers will be eligible to purchase another Monte’s at prior year’s price.
Monte’s Club .25 chip was a Z-1 two years ago prior to me announcing the find of a near box full. The next year, it dropped to an F-. It still sold out in 3 hours at $110.00 at the convention.
Thanks to Jay Sands and others I’m sure, “The Chip Rack” now has the Monte’s Club .25 chip as an “M+” value code.
I am very excited to once again have Table #33 at the convention along with Quintin Kamm. I will accept orders via email or at table #33. Stop by and say hello! Can’t stand the wait – I’m ready!!
Sincerely,
Curt Squires R-7683
