After the Paris murderous attacks, many US military Seals and Rangers where interviewed.
This is what they had to say and suggest to us regular tourist:
Carry a small flashlight in your pocket. This is to point, shine and blind the terrorist. They will be temporarily blinded. Then run like Hell away! Or grab a chair and smash 'm!
Don't make yourself a stationary target! Move! Move! Get the Hell out!
Don't Freeze up and don't just sit on your ass! Don't be a sitting target! Run, crawl or roll away!!! Get the Hell out!
Doing this, is like when our parents told us about the Fire in the house escape plan. I run these scenarios in my mind all the time.
Practice makes perfect.
