I too looked at this a few years back. The record is for the most single chips from each casino. So no matter how many chips you have from one casino it only counts as 1. I know there are collectors that have chips from way more than the current record but it does take some paperwork and money to get it done. I suggested to a few collectors to have it done at the Convention. Guinness should have a rep in the local area so that cost should be minimal. You want to talk about an opportunity for the Club to advertise a chance to see a record broken. Who knows if you can line up the same thing each year we could see the record broke year after year.
Not sure who could volunteer to have it done but with a little work and coordination I think it would be a great idea for someone and the club as a whole. I would consider it but I am out the next two conventions.
