I wouldn't be surprised if there were half a dozen colors originally.
A few chips (can't remember which colors) came out around the time of his pic as that is the date I have in my database as having bought from ebay. Those scans were poor also. Could even have been the same seller. There was nothing wrong with the chips I bought back then.
The guy is not a chip seller so I don't believe he is using bad pics to try and deceive anyone, more laziness.
