The Chip Board Archive 24

Re: Bob, thank you so much for shedding some light

You're welcome. I found some more info on the Baghdad chips and plaque:

"The plaques were found with the same style "Palms Casino Baghdad" casino chips which were traced by Gene Trimble to their manufacturing records: the records show that the coin-in-center chips were made in 1985 (while Saddam was in power) by the Bud Jones Co., Las Vegas, Nevada, for John Huxley Co. (the well-known London gambling supply distributor) for the now-defunct Iraqi casino. Likely the plaques have the same dates. The chips and plaques were found by an American during his tour of duty in Iraq from 2004-2006."

As I recall, there was also another denomination of plaque out there. I think the plaque I showed you in my scan went for around $75 or so. Not sure on the value of the chips. Someone was selling them on "The Board" a while ago. Maybe if you scan the archives you can get an idea of value.

Take care.
