Mortimer's is dead as a doornail. And thanks, Charles Dickens, for giving us that analogy. Not even a sign on the locked door to direct patrons on how to redeem any old chips they may have. Mortimer's Hotel next door is now the Marina Inn so it looks like the whole venture is gone.
The Bumbs have wrecked the old hotel on Matrix Boulevard in San Jose to build a new Bay 101 Casino from the ground up. We wonder if that block will someday be renamed Bay 101 Boulevard...
Marina Club's new $5 GO ceramic chips have worn down so dramatically that the casino released yet another set of $5 chips - also GO but with a raised outer ring to hopefully keep the (smaller) inlays looking good longer. That place is a bit more crowded since it's the only game left in the area unless one wants to go to Bankers in downtown Salinas.
Tried to visit the Outlaws and Central Coast Casinos - both were closed on Sunday afternoon.
