I haven't thought about production samples. I work in printing and we keep samples of all our jobs for repeat business. It's interesting to me how far off in color some duplicate chips can be. I guess there are tolerances and maybe casinos aren't very picky. I see some variances in Chip Guide where they have a couple of entries for one TCR#.

I can see a production sample being very valuable for some chips!
