Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!

I see a lot of posts about sample chips. I don't know a whole bunch about them since I am still new at collecting.

I am sure each case is different but how rare are these chips and how do collectors acquire them? I was thinking that only casinos would get these chips.

I would also like any other information on sample chips just to expand my chip knowledge!
