they are from my collection of Dom Rep chips.
At present they are not for sale.... but, I will be donating my Dom Rep chip collection (actually they are already pledged), together with a history of gaming in the Dom Rep, to be displayed at the "Currency Museum" (translation from..Museo de la Moneda") in the Dom Rep. Permanently.
However, I plan to keep some of the more rare that do not add much to the history of gaming,. and those will include this set. So, will decide soon and let you know if I go with selling them.
These chips were the only C&S of any type ordered in the DR and ordered while the first "official" casino was opening up, The Jaragua. I have not found any evidence so far that these were ever used, reason why they would not contribute to the history, but will to chippers, so keeping them..
I do believe they are quite rare, very few made; the price, however, whatever it may be, may not reflect its rarity because there are not that many Dom Rep collectors, so it mostly appeals to the C&S collectors and to others because of their beauty. Still, I do not believe they are "cheap", I think Michael got lucky with price when he found that one. I certainly paid a good share for mine many years ago.
Below are my chips, and as far as I know, the only 3 colors made. Maybe Rich can put a light into this?!
BTW, chips I purchased from you arrived, and as always, excellent condition, just as advertised. Thanks!
