I never met Doc Gross, but we corresponded frequently and he bought many of the Caribbean and underground card club chips I have sold, from time to time. He was a really nice guy. I repeatedly tried to get him to come to a local New York club meeting and even to the Northeast Chipper Gatherings I put together with Jim Gagnon, but I never convinced him to come. Now, I am particularly sad I never got him to go.
