"printed copy near the desk" I was thinking of doing this and keep a log of the short cut keystrokes of the symbols I use frequently.

But I prefer simply to buy a software that I can pin in the task bar for one group of symbols, like right now I am working in finance report, which I can just click and it pops in front of me, make a selection with simple key strokes produce what I want.

Thank for the other symbols which I will try to compile - what I often use. Type them in word processor page and cut and paste to my document.
