For sellers that I trust I am happy to send cash if paypal doesn't work for them. That works for a few people.
I do though understand the issue with 'items not as described' and being faced with paying the costs again. Not an issue I have had personally, so not one so far that I have had to factor into my selling decisions.
I would never though buy through the Global Shipping Programme. Anyone that thinks that charging 2-3 times actual shipping, maybe more, is reasonable is just not a deal I can go for. I have turned down a couple of purchases where that was the only option, even though the total was less than I would have otherwise paid (i.e. I would pay $40 plus $10 shipping, but not $25 plus $25 shipping). I know that probably doesn't make sense to a lot of people, but that's just how I think.
I do wonder though if anyone has any firm evidence of where the problems with international postage actually are. I do have a concern that the USPS may be the issue - based purely on my own experience that the only problems I have had with anything going missing was with shipments to the US.
Thanks for the info though.
