Pizza fritte translated is fried pizza/fried dough. In the New England and
New York areas it's sold at fairs, carnivals, festivals and outdoor venues.
Like Ralph, I grew up with fried dough and its cousin Zeppole. My local
Italian bakery sells fresh bread dough whenever I feel inclined to cook.
Delicious with melted butter and/or confectioner's sugar.
