Shortly after I got out of college I started working for the Milwaukee Road at their maintenance shops in downtown Milwaukee. We were responsible for ordering and maintaining all cars and locomotives and the equipment at the various roadhouses across the network. When the bicentennial came they wanted to paint one locomotive to celebrate the event. I designed the final layout shown here.
