Steve -- Here's an example that some cruise lines use. Costa Cruise Line primarily sails in Europe, but to serve it's large customer base, they send three ships to the Caribbean to be ported out of Fort Lauderdale, FL When sailing the world and the Mediterranean, the ship's casino uses chips with Euro value and labeling. When these same ships come to the U.S. to serve Summer duty to the Caribbean, they change the chips to reflect U.S. dollars -- but the colors are exactly the same as the Euro chips. Sometimes, you can find the Euro chips in play if you look very closely to the values. We sailed on the Costa Atlantica out of Fort Lauderdale that had just arrived from Genoa, Italy to begin summer service where we found both Euro and U.S. value chips. When the dealers saw Euro (No denomination) chips, they dropped them in the money box to be sorted at the cage.
