My dad bought a new Oldsmobile 98 every other year in the 60's & 70's and got the first one the dealer received under one condition. He had to let the dealer display the car on the showroom floor for two months. It was a big deal back then when the new models came out. I remember back in 1970 when my dad final took delivery of his new car, a week later as a 16 year old driver I scraped a pole and scratched the back panel. Boy I almost lost my life that day...just kidding he was pretty cool about it but I did not live that down for a long time.
