My car has OnStar and they can pinpoint the car's location and also disable it. Last week, I was locked out of the car, and I called on my cellphone, and they unlocked it via satellite. The fee is minimal in the overall subscription rate for the service. That's a clever feature that works 24/7. All you need to do is signup, and prepare some security questions that further identifies the caller as being the owner. Works great. Sorry for you lost and future problems with credit cards, etc.
