THEY ARE LOCATED AROUND THE SOUTHERN SHORES OF LAKE SUPERIOR. BOTH CASINOS ARE OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE KEWEENAW BAY INDIAN COMMUNITY, LAKE SUPERIOR BAND OF CHIPPEWA INDIANS.
NANCY AND I STAYED OVERNIGHT AT THE BARAGA CASINO, THERE WAS NO POKER SO I PLAYED A LITTLE BLACK JACK, ALL OF THE CHIPS WERE USED AND ABUSED SO I DID MY BEST AT HARVESTING A FEW CHIPS. IN THE MORNING WHEN WE GOT READY TO LOAD UP THE TRUCK, WE FOUND ABOUT 4 INCHES OF SNOW ON IT. IT WAS QUITE A SHOCK TO THE TENNESSEE BOY.
NEXT STOP WAS A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD TO THE MARQUETTE CASINO. WE WERE GREETED BY AND MET THE CASINO MANGER, WE TALKED AND TALKED WITH HIM ABOUT HUNTING & FISHING AND ABOUT CHIP COLLECTING. WE HAD ARRIVED ABOUT 10 AM BUT THE TABLES DIDN’T OPEN UNTIL 1 OR 2PM, SO AFTER BEING GIFTED WITH TWO VERY NICE RAIN SLICKER JACKETS AND A WHOLE HOST OF OTHER FREEBIES; WE HAD TO LEAVE.( BEFORE 2PM) WE LEFT WITH THE PROMISE IF THE GAMBLING COMMISSION WILL ALLOW THE MANAGER TO BUY CHIPS WITH MY CHECK, OF WHICH I GAVE HIM, AND WITH THE CAMERA ON IT, HE WOULD MAKE THE TRANSACTION AND THEN SEND US THE CHIPS. AFTER 6 WEEKS WAIT, HE WROTE AN EMAIL AND SAID I’M SORRY. YES, HE SENT BACK MY CHECK. DEFINITELY, DID NOT GET ENOUGH CHIPS AT THESE TWO CASINOS. …REGGIE
This is a chip I would like to acquire through trade or purchase please email if you have one available or know someone who has one available. Even if you do not have the denomination or mold shown, you should know that it is possible that I may need other denominations or molds from this casino. THE GROWTH OF MY COLLECTION LIBRARY WEB SITE
Starting in 2016, I will be listing everything I have (all of my excel inventory +) on the collection library trader/for sale. Of course, many of you did not know that my previous listings were items I had more than one of. Now, everything; even the chips I only have 1 (one) of will be listed. Please know; none of these are from my personal collection. One more important point while searching for chips on my CL site; there are two settings for viewing my chips. One is a simply a long, long list of pictures and descriptions. Two is by Country/City/State/Casino alphabetical. You may request me to change this at any time.
This will cause more work for me, and along with that will be the possibility of more errors, and chances for items to slip through the cracks. So, I apologize in advance for the times I do not clear off a listing after it has been sold. Also, on the other side of coin, there will be times I will find a very nice item that I had forgot to put on the “Collection Library” when I first got it. And now I am listing it just when you started looking for it.
*On the subject of trading, please know: When you spot something on my CL Trader/For Sale list the you really want, I need to get something that I can put into my collection or it will be a cash sale. Because, to take in trade something I will in turn have to sell, (that is already in my collection) requires me to work twice as hard to complete the original transaction.
The important thing is that this project will take a while and I will be listing for a long time, so check in frequently and see what is new. Will report to you when I finish listing everything.
