Sorry David, is not just me,This differentiation of the smooth vs grid has been discussed quite a bit in this board in the past.
When you see them together, in your hand, I think you will change opinion.
They are discribed differently in different catalogs/guide, I am not making this up.
Read the catalog that carries your name, is well documented there, or did you guys made an error???? So, if they are both the same you need to update the catalog the next time around, otherwise you guys are giving us misinformation"! I will have to get my lawyer
Luis...
Rather than come across like a bull in a china shop, I think it would serve you well to read and learn from posts by experts. Mr. Spragg is extremely knowledgeable regarding the construction of chips, and rather than just dismissing him out of hand, as you've done, (not to mention demeaning our book), I suggest that you learn from David.
The first thing I thought after seeing your original post was that your chip is very worn and the crosshatching on the center of the inlay is probably worn down. If you ever feel you want to present a chip that you feel is labeled incorrectly on websites or missing from a price guide, I would suggest finding one in no worse than slightly used condition. We would never consider adding a listing after seeing just the scan that you posted. Worn chips do not necessarily have the characteristics of new ones that are otherwise identical.
