I hope this research holds water 😀 I felt like I was a detective with some suspects in a crime. Most had a good alibi as to why they couldn't be. There were only a couple who stood out. And then narrowed it down to 2. There is a possibility that the other guy ordered the chips....but my research ( and gut feeling) lean 85-90% that this is our guy. He was a very distinguished guy. A man of wealth and power. These chips were made for a guy like this.
There were about 100 newspaper articles with this guy in it. He was involved in many organizations. While being the Publisher of the Chronicle, he still ran the Cement Company. Either one of those were probably more than enough work for 1 man. He was a part of board of directors of some of the most important bridges on the west coast.( San Francisco ) There were also a lot of newspaper clippings of his wife hosting or attending functions with other wives of prestigious San Francisco men.
I bet there is probably a book already written about this guy and his importance to the San Francisco Bay Area. (I never looked to see)
I appreciate your comments....after all I look upto you. You got me started (and hooked) on all this research stuff) 😀
And yes....I am almost done with my Elmo Club research. It's been 3+ years, but I am missing a couple very small aspects of it. I'd also like to find a match book with the name on it...I was told by many that it just doesn't exist. Off to the library I go.
