Mary fire departments in Maryland ran casino type gaming on a regular basis until the late 1990's when legislation abolished this form of gaming in Maryland. One of the most notable of these was held in Bladensburg, a suburb of Washington, DC. There were 6 denominational chips ($1, 2.50, 5, 25, 100 & 500). The ones offered for sale here are in very good condition although many of $25, $100 & $500 chips have faded - a common problem with Chipcos made at that time. The set of 6 is available for $24 + P&H.
There were 5 different designs of roulette chips. What is interesting about them is that each design had 12 different colors. There was also an earlier set of chips containing on the letters BVFD. It contained only 6 colors. The complete set of 66 different roulette chips is available for $69 + P&H.
If you would like to add any Bladensburg chips to your collection, please e-mail me at pachipper@aol.com.
Thanks and Happy Holidays !!
