Of the five major casinos on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, four - Harrah's, Harveys, Montbleu and the Hard Rock - get the bulk of the tourist business. The fifth is the Lakeside Inn, about a half-mile up Highway 50 from its four competitors. It is primarily a locals place.

In its earlier life, the Lakeside Inn was Harvey's Inn, owned by Harvey Gross until his death. The bottom of the pool at the Lakeside Inn used to have the Harvey's logo on it even after the name change.
