Found these in a Antique store in Long Beach,Ca yesterday.I barely saw them because something was covering the box and was able to make out part of the print and asked the lady to open the cabinet. There used to be a Steamer Pier in Avalon and 2 ships I know of came in the harbor a long time ago.The SS Catalina and the SS Avalon.I remember diving for coins as the people came off the ship and would throw coins do the kids in the water along side the Pier. The Avalon was Bought by William Wrigley of the chewing gum company in 1924 and fixed up and brought from the east coast through the Panama canal. It was built in 1891 and has had a couple other names. The SS Catalina Wrigley had built in I think 1920 but was comisioned again I think in 1925 so they were around at basically the same time, but the SS Catalina was around to about 1970 and I'm not sure when the SS Avalon stopped running.Anyway it was exciting to find some history from my home and they appear to have never been used and in new condition too.I can hardly wait to show to some of the other Islanders, they'll get a kick out of them,Torrey
