We stopped by there the year is was declared a National Park. My favorites were the Lehman Caves and the 5,000 year old bristlecone pine trees. I think this is about the only place were you can see the bristlecone pine trees with a short (less than an hour) hike. They are an amazing sight - hard to believe anything could live that long in such a hardscrabble environment.
