One more thing, I was initially confused by what you meant when you said South Sixth. Then I looked at the chip carefully and now know what you meant. That character on the bottom of the chip is 方, which means “direction.”

You may have thought the bottom character is 六, meaning six, hence your translation of South Sixth. It may be confusing and look like six because it was written in more of a stylized calligraphy form, but I can assure you that it is not 六. It would not make any sense in context.

南方 is a known term. It technically translates to “South Direction,” but practically it can mean “From the South,” “Southern region,” “A place in the South,” etc.

南六, on the other hand, is gibberish.

With that said, what I’m confused by are the letters “MF.” 南方 is pronounced “Nan Fang” in Mandarin, so M would not make any sense. Even in Cantonese (southern dialect), 南is pronounced Naam, not M either.
