Peter Piersanti was an interesting guy. In the 1940s he owned a lodge in southern Idaho that featured slot machines, but when Idaho outlawed gaming, he moved his operation south to Contact, Nevada. Eventually he was instrumental in the formation of the town of Jackpot, Nevada, which didn't officially exist until the 1950s.
The namesake of Cactus Pete's in Jackpot, he also owned Cactus Jack's in Carson City. And when your image is on a chip, you know you've made it big.
