A MATCH BOOK STORY

In 1947 my father sent me a box filled w/100s of match book covers. My grandmother with whom I lived was horrified but I managed to secure them and strung them across the ceiling of my room. In 1960 when my grandmother passed, my mother cleaned out the 'junk' and along with 100 or so metal pre-war toy cars....Ugh! Of course that was only a few of the things I have lost along the way (other than my Cadillac which was found vbg) which included Joe Dimaggio, Jack Dempsey & other signatures, a Lou Gehrig/Babe Ruth baseball that my former wife gave to some visiting children; a roman gold coin that she tossed when we moved; but "hey" that's life. grin
